SERVE OUR CITY is all about compassion, unity, selflessness, and service.  Together, we’ll serve amazing  local organizations and meet real needs in our community!  We believe every person is worth the extra mile and we live to give!  We hope you’ll join us as we blanket our community with the love of Jesus!  Kids are welcome and encouraged to participate!   We hope you'll join us at 8am at Crossroads Church — we will be kicking off the day with some worship and encouragement before we head out to our projects!

NICU PARENT CARE BASKETS

The NICU is the last place a new parent expects to end up at the birth of their newborn.  Most are unprepared and feel lost in the moment.  We have an opportunity to shine a little light and hope into this uncertain time for them!  Come and prepare care baskets and write encouraging notes to these precious people that they will receive in their time of need.  We are also collecting items for these baskets each Sunday leading up to Serve Our City Day 

FIREHOUSE BLITZ

We will be serving and giving back to local fire departments by making 15 gift baskets filled with treats and then distributing them to all local firehouses.

HOPE HOUSE REFRESH

Hope House is an incredible organization that quickly helps move women and children from homelessness to housing.  We have the opportunity to make an improvement to the living conditions of their residents by giving their home a little TLC!   We'll be pitching in to refresh and beautify their property by planting, raking, picking up trash, etc.  Make sure to wear clothes you can get dirty!​

FREDERICKSBURG FOOD BANK

The Fredericksburg Food Bank exists to feed the hungry through a community-wide network of partner agencies and engage our community in the fight to end hunger.  We will be supporting this awesome organization by holding a food drive in front of the Giant at Harrison Crossing!  What an incredible opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of precious people in need!

MICAH MINISTRIES

In response to God’s call to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8), Micah Ecumenical Ministries was formed to provide a holistic system of care for our homeless community.  This includes connection to community resources, mental health outreach, disability application assistance, post-hospital respite care, supportive employment, educational advancement, housing placement and re-creation of the support systems necessary for people to stabilize outside of their present crisis. We will be supporting this incredible ministry by organizing and cleaning up their furniture warehouse.​

TREASURE HOUSE SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Treasure House serves over 500 homeless children and their families within Spotsylvania County Schools.  Located behind Massaponax High School in a mobile trailer, their space is set up like a store where families can shop for free because all items are 100% community donated.  We will be collecting much needed school supplies for the homeless children in our area.

TREASURE HOUSE SCHOOL SUPPLIES

We have adopted 2 local public schools (Battlefield Elementary & Middle School) and will be stuffing 100 backpacks to be given to students in need at each school!  Come and help stuff backpacks  - This is a perfect project for young kids to be involved!
